About
Hey, and welcome to my blog. I guess you’re here because you want to know who the hell I am.
Well, my name is Jonathan Andrews (a.k.a. Jono, a.k.a. Cash Money). I live in Cape Town, South Africa. I was born in Cape Town’s southern suburbs and have lived here for most of my life - apart from a brief two-year stint in Harare, Zimbabwe in the mid-80s (before it all went to pot) and a couple of years abroad after I’d completed my studies.
I studied a BA in Cultural and Literary Studies at UCT, which was followed by a year doing a Post-Graduate Diploma in Journalism and Media Studies at Rhodes University in Grahamstown. Upon completing those, I embarked on a journey to Canada. I wound up spending about eight months in Vancouver painting houses and chefing at a small martini bar, which I understand no longer exists. Immediately thereafter I set my sights on London, where I was sure I’d establish a career as a successful journalist. But, as things go in London, I went from crappy job to crappy job and eventually found myself working as a database administrator for a facilities management company. Two years later, it was time to return home.
Back in Cape Town, I began work with one of the largest inbound travel companies in the country - and that gave me my introduction to the world of online marketing. I’ve been involved in eMarketing ever since.
I work as an eMarketing Strategist at AlterSage, an online marketing consultancy based in Cape Town. This is my own personal blog, and the views expressed here are my own.
That is really my professional life in a nutshell. If you really want to know more, you can contact me.
